I first became interested in oncology after my grandfather was diagnosed with colon cancer. I will never forget the cold dark evening when my grandfather had a resection of his colon cancer. My father and I waited for hours for his surgeon to come out of surgery. When the surgeon arrived in the waiting area, my father and I had numerous questions but many went unanswered. The uncertainty of not knowing prognosis and treatment options made my father and I quite anxious. I reflect back often during my medical career, and I always challenge myself to try to educate the patient and family and answer all their questions. The best part of my day is talking to patients and their families about their prognosis and treatment plan. I have been a radiation oncologist since July of 1994. I did my residency training in radiation oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I started working at Agnesian Healthcare in July of 1998. I feel that Agnesian Healthcare has excellent equipment and technology for our radiation oncology department. Most importantly I feel that the staff at the cancer center is second to none. We truly have committed nurses, technologists, doctors and staff who all have the same goal of compassionate cancer care. I feel blessed to work with such tremendous staff. I feel blessed to live in the Fond du Lac area and my family and I enjoy the community. My interests include my family, my faith, the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
