Dr. Nelson specializes in child and adult orthopedic needs, from first diagnosis to final rehabilitation. He is skilled in the latest surgical techniques for the repair, replacement or reconstruction of the hand, knee, shoulder, foot, hip, wrist, ankle and elbow. “Every patient is different and each need is different,” says Dr. Nelson. “It is important for me to engage patients in their treatment plan and help them achieve their goals.”
A graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Nelson completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Nelson is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. “I’m excited to join a cooperative healthcare community,” according to Dr. Nelson. “Agnesian HealthCare offers a comprehensive, team approach which best serves our patients and their families.” He spends his free time jogging, bicycling and hunting. When he’s not working, he can be found spending time with his family and playing with his daughters.
