Garden walk enjoys successful year
This year’s garden walk, co-sponsored by the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation and Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers, blossomed in a celebration of color and creativity as more than 800 people enjoyed six beautiful gardens, and raised money to help create a more peaceful, tranquil and healing environment through the addition of a piano in the St. Agnes Hospital lobby.
The 2010 event featured the gardens of Southlake 4-Plex Condo Gardens (Peter & Deb Doll; Bev Gudex & Ron Cross; Sheila Koepke; Judy Stevenson; and Margaret Whitty), 324 Southlake Circle, Fond du Lac; Gary and Diane Pelot, 686 Mullen Drive, Fond du Lac; Jeff and Melissa Norenberg, 141 E. 13th Street, Fond du Lac; Mitch and Kim Loomans, 217 Roosevelt Street, Fond du Lac; Vicki Rabe Harrison and Ralph Harrison, 40 N. Sallie Avenue, Fond du Lac; and Agnesian HealthCare Gardens, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac (Art Fair & Garden Party site).
The garden walk had another successful year generating more than $10,000.
This year, garden walk participants enjoyed a special Garden Party at the Agnesian HealthCare Gardens. The Garden Party featured delightful desserts, summertime beverages and an Art Fair with unique items displayed by talented area vendors.
“The Garden Party brought a new and engaging feature to this annual fund-raiser,” says Rita Meidam, St. Agnes Hospital Foundation senior Community Affairs associate. “We are so fortunate to have such strong community support, especially from those individuals who warmly invited us into their beautiful gardens. We appreciate their efforts in helping us achieve this success.”
Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers organized their first garden walk in 1996 in celebration of St. Agnes Hospital’s centennial.
The 2010 garden walk was coordinated by committee members: Bonnie Harmsen, Mona Eiring, Jennifer Hawley, Renee Herrick, Ramona Huempfner, Terri Karns, Terry Mabee, Rita Meidam, Carla Minsky, Karen Schumacher, Carol Sadler, Jean Smith, Dr. Ann Sosalla, Sharon Stoffel and Mary Zimmerman.
