Agnesian HealthCare celebrates new Mt. Calvary clinic facility construction
Agnesian HealthCare has scheduled a special ceremony at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 to celebrate construction of a new Fond du Lac Regional Clinic facility in Mt. Calvary. The public is invited to attend.
Construction work is underway on three acres of land at the corner of County Highway W and Oak Lane (100 Evergreen Road) in Mt. Calvary to construct a new facility to replace the current Fond du Lac Regional Clinic site at 100 S. County W. Jeffrey Strong, MD, Fond du Lac Regional Clinic family medicine physician has been serving patients at that location for more than 25 years.
The new facility, scheduled to open this fall, will be 5,350 square feet and able to accommodate two Fond du Lac Regional Clinic providers, as well as separate office space for Mt. Calvary Dental, which Thomas Gietman, DDS, now operates at the current location.
The Fond du Lac Regional Clinic portion will feature four exam rooms; two procedure rooms; a spacious waiting room with special children’s area; expanded, accessible parking; and a main entrance canopy to protect visitors from inclement weather. It will also offer laboratory and X-ray services. As a result, the clinic can perform a variety of imaging procedures and lab tests with same day results.
Agnesian HealthCare is working with PTD Inc., Fond du Lac, for the building’s architectural work, and C.D. Smith Construction as the general contractor for the $1.5 million project.
“This new clinic will allow us to continue serving the residents of Mt Calvary and surrounding areas in the best possible ways,” says Dennis Yunk, senior vice president and clinic administrator with Agnesian HealthCare. “We want to continue to serve the Mt. Calvary community through a more modern facility, which provides the finest space and services for our patients and families.”
In addition, the clinic will be equipped with the newest information systems technology to allow for computerized patient records, Yunk says. The system is part of Agnesian HealthCare’s ongoing technology expansion, which allows providers to more easily access patient information.
“For example, if a patient requires care at St. Agnes Hospital, we can immediately access vital patient information from all of our satellite clinics serving our region,” Yunk explains.
Dr. Strong says the new clinic is part of the staff’s commitment to continue enhancing care available within the Mt. Calvary community.
“A new, larger facility will help us provide our patients with a pleasant environment where they can continue to receive the same quality of medical care they have come to expect from the Fond du Lac Regional Clinic in Mt. Calvary,” he says. “It also gives our staff more physical working space that creates a more effective workflow.”
For Dr. Gietman, the new facility also helps mark a special milestone.
“This is a very exciting year for us,” according to Dr. Gietman. “2010 marks our 25th anniversary in practice, and we are looking forward to a new clinic building. We have always enjoyed a great relationship with Agnesian HealthCare, and would like to thank them for inviting us to come along and be a part of this exciting new facility!” BACK TO NEWS
