Garden Walk features a Garden Party this year

The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, along with the Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers, will host the 2010 Garden Walk, Art Fair & Garden Party from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, rain or shine!

Garden walk organizers expect more than 1,000 visitors from all parts of Wisconsin who will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and the joy and inspiration from strolling well-manicured surroundings.

“We are featuring six beautiful gardens all within the city of Fond du Lac,” says Rita Meidam, Agnesian HealthCare senior Community Affairs associate.

Featured this year will be the Agnesian HealthCare Gardens – Meditation Garden, Angel of Hope and Legacy Circle – which are all located on the east side of St. Agnes Hospital, 430 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. “This is where we will host a special Garden Party from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.,” says Meidam.

At the Garden Party, guests will enjoy delightful desserts, summertime beverages and an Art Fair with unique items displayed by talented area vendors.

This year’s garden properties are located at:
• 324 Southlake Circle, Fond du Lac; Southlake 4-Plex Condo Gardens (Peter & Deb Doll; Bev Gudex & Ron Cross; Sheila Koepke; Judy Stevenson; and Margaret Whitty)
• 686 Mullen Drive, Fond du Lac (Gary & Diane Pelot)
• 141 E. 13th Street, Fond du Lac (Jeff & Melissa Norenberg)
• 217 Roosevelt Street, Fond du Lac (Mitch & Kim Loomans)
• 40 N. Sallie Avenue, Fond du Lac (Vicki Rabe Harrison & Ralph Harrison)
• 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac (Agnesian HealthCare Gardens; Art Fair & Garden Party site)

“We are especially grateful to those individuals who work so hard to showcase their lovely gardens to our community,” adds Meidam. “We appreciate their efforts and labor of love.”

The Garden Art Fair will again feature a Butterfly Wingspan Raffle. The cost is $10 for one arm span of raffle tickets. Individuals select the raffle prize they wish to win by placing their raffle ticket(s) in a decorated flowerpot that corresponds to a particular raffle prize. A wide variety of raffle prizes will be available to choose from.

Garden walk hosts will be available to share information and answer questions, and there will be a free drawing (with garden walk entry ticket) available at each of the six gardens. Drawing prizes include gift certificates from Becky’s Cottage Floral and Greenscape Gardens.

The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation earmarks funds raised at the Garden Walk for projects that benefit the mission and vision of Agnesian HealthCare. This year’s proceeds will help create a more peaceful, tranquil and healing environment through the addition of a piano in the St. Agnes Hospital lobby.

Tickets for the Agnesian HealthCare Garden Walk are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the event (at any garden location). Tickets can be purchased at Agnesian HealthCare Information Desks, Haentze Floral, Wegner Office Supply.
