Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $30 per couple This two-week Agnesian HealthCare class for expectant parents includes information on nutrition, fetal growth and development, mechanics of labor, breathing and relaxation, types of deliveries, physical and emotional needs of the mother and coach, plus much more. Monday, April 5 2010Safe Sitter Time: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Location: Agnesian HealthCare Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $40 per student Agnesian HealthCare's Safe Sitter workshop is a nationally-recognized babysitting workshop that teaches adolescent babysitters how to handle crises and how to nurture and guide a young adult. Participants of this workshop emerge as more confident, responsible and compassionate teen and adults. Students will receive a manual and course completion card. This class is for children ages 11 to 14. All students should bring a beverage and snack/lunch or dinner. This is a two-day workshop. Register
Tuesday, April 6 2010Heartsaver AED Time: 6 to 9:30 p.m. Location: Agnesian HealthCare Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $40 per person HEARTSAVER AED teaches lay rescuers CPR and use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for adult and child cardiac arrest victims. Students also learn relief of choking in adults and children, infant CPR and relief of choking and child and infant safety. A course completion card is given upon successful completion of a practical and written exam. Register

Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $5 per person Macular degeneration is a disorder that includes a variety of eye diseases that affect central vision. Central vision is what you see directly in front of you rather than what you see at the side of your vision. Macular degeneration is caused when part of the retina deteriorates. Age-related macular degeneration is the most common type of macular degeneration and is the leading cause of legal blindness in people older than 55 in the United States. The disease affects more than 10 million Americans.
Join Amy Zguta, MD, Fond du Lac Regional Clinic ophthalmologist, as she discusses different types of macular degeneration, risk factors, symptoms and treatment options. CPR and relief of foreign body airway obstruction in the responsive victim. The course presents information about the AHA adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. The course also presents information on the AHA pediatric Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, prevention of the most common fatal pediatric injuries and reduction in the risk of sudden infant death syndrome. Division Cost: $40 per person HEALTHCARE PROVIDER CPR teaches healthcare providers the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen), use of an AED and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in responsive and non-responsive victims. A course completion card is given upon successful completion of a practical and written exam. Afternoon Grief Support Group Time: Noon to 1:15 p.m. Cost: Free Community Service Sponsored by Agnesian HealthCare, this afternoon grief support program is designed to help participants cope with the death of a loved one in an informative and supportive group setting. In addition to a general overview of the grieving process, participants will also learn differences in grieving, how to manage their grief, past grief experiences and how to prepare for and face special days such as holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. Other topics to be addressed include spirituality and grieving, how to help others cope with their loss, and the importance of closure – how to go on after saying “good-bye.”
This group meets the third Tuesday of every month.
