Brown Street, Waupun Cost: $40 per student Agnesian HealthCare's Safe Sitter workshop is a nationally-recognized babysitting workshop that teaches adolescent babysitters how to handle crises and how to nurture and guide a young adult. Participants of this workshop emerge as more confident, responsible and compassionate teen and adults. Students will receive a manual, back pack and course completion card. This class is for children ages 11 to 14. All students should bring a beverage and snack/lunch or dinner. This is a two-day workshop. Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $5 per person Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain in an individual's muscles, ligaments and tendons, as well as fatigue and multiple tender points. Women are much more likely to develop the disorder than are men, and the risk of fibromyalgia increases with age. Fibromyalgia symptoms often begin after a physical or emotional trauma. Join Donna Thomas, OTR, CKTP, Waupun Memorial Hospital occupational therapist, to learn more about the symptoms and functional changes associated with this disease. Thomas will also discuss treatment options and available resources. Register Heartsaver AED Time: 6 to 9:30 p.m. Location: Agnesian HealthCare Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $40 per person HEARTSAVER AED teaches lay rescuers CPR and use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for adult and child cardiac arrest victims. Students also learn relief of choking in adults and children, infant CPR and relief of choking and child and infant safety. Tuesday, March 16 2010Afternoon Grief Support Group Time: Noon to 1:15 p.m. Cost: Free Community Service Sponsored by Agnesian HealthCare, this afternoon grief support program is designed to help participants cope with the death of a loved one in an informative and supportive group setting. In addition to a general overview of the grieving process, participants will also learn differences in grieving, how to manage their grief, past grief experiences and how to prepare for and face special days such as holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. Other topics to be addressed include spirituality and grieving, how to help others cope with their loss, and the importance of closure – how to go on after saying “good-bye.”
This group meets the third Tuesday of every month.

The course presents information about the AHA adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. The course also presents information on the AHA pediatric Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, prevention of the most common fatal pediatric injuries and reduction in the risk of sudden infant death syndrome. Join Sigrun Columbia-Navis, RN, certified yoga instructor with the Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing, for an eight-week yoga program designed for the beginner and intermediate yoga student. Students will utilize the techniques learned in Beginning Yoga as well as learn more challenging poses that are held longer to further increase strength, balance and flexibility. Students will learn new relaxation techniques and have the opportunity to sit for meditation at the end of each class. As variations of the basic postures are introduced, individuals will gain a new awareness of body, breath and mind. Statistics indicate that one in every three Americans suffer from chronic joint pains or arthritis, and the risk increases with age and is more common among women than men. Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $25 per person HEALTHCARE PROVIDER CPR RENEWAL is for those who hold a current Healthcare Provider CPR certification and need to renew their status. Healthcare providers will review the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen), use of an AED and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in responsive and non-responsive victims. Thursday, March 25 2010Baby Care Basics Time: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Location: Agnesian HealthCare Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac Cost: $30 per couple This class provides instruction and demonstration regarding infant care, such as feeding, bathing, navel care, circumcision care and diapering. Mom and support person are welcome to attend. The class covers how to respond to your infant’s cues, signs and symptoms of an ill infant, newborn safety and much more. This class should be completed by the end of the eighth month of pregnancy. Register
