Meditation and the Mind
Time: 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.
Location: Agnesian HealthCare's St. Agnes Chapel, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac
Cost: $45 per person
Meditation is the mastery of the thought patterns of the mind. Our mind is the trigger for all the internal stress that enters our lives and is an ally to the external stress, especially when we do not have mastery over the constant chatter that does not allow us to experience relaxation. This three-week clas, designed by Michael Ketterhagen, PhD, Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing spiritual director, and Marian University associate professor theology, will introduce participants to the two skills used in meditation - mindfulness and relaxed concentration. These skills enable us to still the constant chatter of the mind and allow us to experience peaceful, joyful, one-pointed thinking. At the end of the three-week session, participants will confidently know how to meditate and become a relaxed, focused thinker. This class is scheduled for Wednesdays, October 6, 13 and 20.
