Walk with a Doc and Agnesian HealthCare encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.

Join a provider on the first, second and third Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m., and every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. to begin your commitment of improved health and well-being.

Step it Up! The Surgeon General of the United States recommends 150 minutes of weekly exercise to:

  • Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, type 2 diabetes, breast and colon cancers, and depression
  • Maintain or lose weight
  • Boost your energy
  • Improve your sleep
  • Reduce stress
  • Redue your risk of falls
  • Delay the onset of cognitive decline and dementia

A diabetes diet simply means eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts and sticking to regular mealtimes. Naturally rich in nutrients and low in fat and calories, a diabetes diet is the best eating plan for most everyone.

Join Mike Wetzel, sous-chef, and Emily Thiel, registered dietitian, for a cooking demonstration that boasts healthy and flavorful foods, and tips on how diabetes can be managed by following a balanced diet.

This one-evening class is for expectant parents in their late second or mid to late third trimesters of pregnancy. Expectant parents will learn about third trimester changes in mom and baby's body; changes in mom and baby's body during labor; process of labor and fetal monitoring; signs and symptoms of labor, when to go to the hospital; stages of labor; pain control options; relaxation; comfort and distraction techniques; pushing positions; high-risk situations; and what happens after delivery. This program also includes a tour of the Women & Infants Unit birthing rooms.
