Walk with a Doc and Agnesian HealthCare encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.

Join a provider on the first, second and third Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m., and every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. to begin your commitment of improved health and well-being.

Step it Up! The Surgeon General of the United States recommends 150 minutes of weekly exercise to:

  • Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, type 2 diabetes, breast and colon cancers, and depression
  • Maintain or lose weight
  • Boost your energy
  • Improve your sleep
  • Reduce stress
  • Redue your risk of falls
  • Delay the onset of cognitive decline and dementia
  • Increase sense of well-being and more!

HEARTSAVER AED teaches lay rescuers CPR and use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for adult and child cardiac arrest victims. Students also learn relief of choking in adults and children, infant CPR and relief of choking and child and infant safety. A course completion card is given upon successful completion of a practical and written exam.

The Alzheimer's support group is an open gathering of people with common needs and interests who come together to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared challenges of dementia in a safe environment. Support groups may include persons with dementia as well as caregivers.

Agnesian HealthCare and The Alzheimer's Association invite individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia-related illness to participate in an open gathering to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences to better cope with and manage the shared challenges of Alzheimer's and dementia in a safe environment.

Free respite care is provided for loved ones during the hour of support group.

This group is offered on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

This one-evening class is for expectant parents in their late second or mid to late third trimesters of pregnancy. Expectant parents will learn about third trimester changes in mom and baby's body; changes in mom and baby's body during labor; process of labor and fetal monitoring; signs and symptoms of labor, when to go to the hospital; stages of labor; pain control options; relaxation; comfort and distraction techniques; pushing positions; high-risk situations; and what happens after delivery. This program also includes a tour of the Women & Infants Unit birthing rooms.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR teaches healthcare providers the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen), use of an AED and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in responsive and non-responsive victims.
