Agnesian HealthCare and the Fond du Lac Family YMCA are partnering with Walk With a Doc to create a safe, walkable community.

The collaborative mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.

Join providers on Monday through Friday between 8 and 9:30 a.m.; the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month between 5 and 6 p.m.; and Wednesdays between 4 to 5 p.m. to begin your commitment of improved health and well-being.

In addition, Ripon Medical Center providers will be walking at Ripon High School, 850 Tiger Drive, Ripon, the first and third Wednesdays of the month between 6 to 7 p.m.

Step it Up! The Surgeon General of the United States recommends 150 minutes of weekly exercise to:

  • Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, type 2 diabetes, breast and colon cancers, and depression
  • Maintain or lose weight
  • Boost your energy
  • Improve your sleep
  • Reduce stress
  • Redue your risk of falls
  • Delay the onset of cognitive decline and dementia
  • Increase sense of well-being and more!

The public is invited to a jewelry sale by PTK Sales from Tuesday, July 17 to Thursday, July 19 in Agnesian HealthCare’s lobby concourse, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on July 17 and 18, and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 19.

Sponsored by the Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers, proceeds will benefit patient programs and services at St. Agnes Hospital.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to choose from a huge selection of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pins, watches, hosiery, tights, apparel, special gift items and more! Almost everything is $6.

LGBTQ Adult is a free, confidential support group for adults 18 and older who identify with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community, and/or seeking support surrounding their sexual orientation.

Facilitated by Leann Vice-Reshel, MA, LPC, and Paul Clark, MSE, LPC, Agnesian Health Care Behavioral Health Services, this professional and peer-led group offers support to individuals anywhere in their coming out process, and includes professional education on the following:

  • Coming out
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Gender identity
  • Communication with family and friends
  • Mindfulness
  • Emotion regulation

This group meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Basic Life Support (previously Healthcare Provider CPR)

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR teaches healthcare providers the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen), use of an AED and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in responsive and non-responsive victims. A course completion card is given upon successful completion of a practical and written exam.

Healthy Living With Diabetes

This six-week workshop is for adults of all ages who have type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, or who live with someone that does.

Led by trained leaders, some of whom have diabetes, the program focuses on helping you feel better, have more control, and do the things you want to do.

Program is free - there is an option workbook purchase of $20 at the start of the program. 

Workshop dates include: Thursdays, July 19 to August 23.

Space is limited. Preregistration is required.

Expectant parents in their mid to late third trimester of pregnancy are invited to join St. Agnes Hospital Women & Infants Unit labor and delivery nurses for a two-part class that focuses on mom and baby, after baby has been born. Session one focuses on mom - body changes after delivery; breast care, baby blues, relationships, work and child care, diet and exercise and expectations. Session two is all about baby, including newborn characteristics, feeding, sleeping, soothing, bathing, illness and more! 

Class dates are July 19 & 26.

The Weight Watchers series conducted every Friday at Agnesian HealthCare, 430 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac, is offering a 10 percent discount for the next series, slated to begin Friday, August 10.

An open house for current and new members is scheduled at noon on Friday, July 20. Anyone interested in joining is invited to attend and sign up. The public is welcome to participate.

The Weight Watchers At Work program is offered every Friday at noon (weigh in begins at 11:30 a.m.) in the Health Resource Center, just off the St. Agnes Hospital lobby. Meetings are led by Cheryl Taylor, Weight Watchers meeting facilitator.

Weight Watchers meetings cover nutrition advice and exercise tips to help members lose weight. Weight Watchers also offers advice and recipes on its web site, and sells products, such as recipe books, a magazine and food.

RMC Triathlon

This Ripon Medical Center event combines the rich history of the Green Lake Conference Center, its beautiful grounds and the deepest inland lake in Wisconsin to attract racers from all over the Midwest. The course includes an amazing lake swim, rolling hills on the bike and secluded run course making this triathlon perfect for beginners to veterans.
