Two new members Join SSM Health Ministries, SSM Health Board of Directors

ST. LOUIS, MO (Jan. 25, 2018) – Two new members have been appointed to SSM Health Ministries - Sr. Mary Noel Brown, CSA, of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Fr. Michael Rozier, S.J., of Ann Arbor, Mich. As the health system’s sponsoring body, SSM Health Ministries is responsible for preserving the organization's Roman Catholic identity and serving as liaison to the Vatican. With the appointment to SSM Health Ministries, Sr. Brown and Fr. Rozier also become members of the SSM Health Board of Directors.

Sr. Brown is the executive leader of sponsorship for the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, responsible for guiding the CSA Sponsorship Ministry with vision, knowledge spiritual depth and the formation of senior leaders and board members. CSA recently transferred sponsorship of its Wisconsin-based health care ministries to SSM Health Ministries. Over Sr. Brown’s nearly 50-year career, she’s served in various healthcare roles, including mission officer, vice president of patient care, director of nursing, director of in-service education and staff nurse. She also has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including Friends of Women in Recovery where she still serves as a spiritual counselor. She is a member of the Catholic Health Association’s Sponsor/Canon Law Committee. Sr. Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Alverno College in Milwaukee, a master’s degree in nursing administration from Indiana University-Purdue University and a certification in spiritual direction from the Norbertine Center for Spirituality in De Pere, Wis.

Fr. Rozier is a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan Department of Health Management and Policy in Ann Arbor. His research focuses on the ethics of population health strategies, framing of public health policy and the inclusion of vulnerable populations in health resource allocation. Previously, Fr. Rozier served as director of undergraduate education and as an instructor in Saint Louis University’s departments of Community Health and Health Management and Policy. He’s authored or co-authored nearly 20 journal articles, delivered dozens of presentations at industry events and serves on the Catholic Health Association’s Ministry Leadership Formation Advisory Committee. Fr. Rozier earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Saint Louis University, a master’s degree in Health Science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and a master’s degree in Divinity from Boston College.
