This occurs at certain times of the year. For us in Wisconsin , it is the winter months. The days are shorter and the sun shines less. This is a type of depression, where many can experience:

  • Increased appetite with weight gain
  • Increased sleep
  • Less energy
  • Poor concentration
  • Loss of interest in work or other activities
  • Social withdrawal
  • Unhappy and irritability
Some ways to manage are:
  • Get your recommended sleep
  • Eat a healthy foods
  • Try to exercise – this is hard for many during the winter months
If you are concerned for yourself or a love one, we can help at the Agnesian HealthCare Center for Sleep Disorders at St. Agnes Hospital.
