Agnesian HealthCare welcomes internist Radhika Raj, MD, to Agnesian HealthCare’s Fond du Lac Regional Clinic, 420 E. Division Street. She is now accepting new patients.
As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Raj offers comprehensive healthcare services to men and women, which includes both preventive care and non-surgical management of medical illnesses.
Internal medicine doctors, also called internists, specialize in diagnosing and treating adult health concerns. They are trained to solve complex diagnostic concerns, and can treat severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. When other medical specialists, such as surgeons, are involved in managing the illness, internal medicine doctors coordinate their patient’s care and work along with the specialist and manage the medical conditions associated with that illness.
Internists also bring to patients an understanding of wellness by helping patients attain good physical and mental health by following a healthy lifestyle. They focus on promoting periodic health screening, women’s health, prediabetes management, cholesterol management, maintaining a healthy weight and osteoporosis prevention and guidance to prevent diseases before they start. Appropriate and early treatment of common concerns of the eyes, ears, sinuses, skin, chest, bowels, nervous system, joints and reproductive organs can help patients maintain good health.
“I work with my patients to help them effectively and proactively maintain their overall health and well-being,” says Dr. Raj.
A graduate of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital in Coimbatore, India, Dr. Raj completed her internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
“My goal is to provide compassionate and high-quality care for my patients,” says Dr. Raj. “I’m an advocate for my patients and their overall health.”
Dr. Raj is married and has two children. She enjoys traveling, ethnic cooking and music, as well as volunteering in the community.
